The Shepherd King Duet
An unexpected exchange of voices all knitting the same tale…
🎥 In a Snapshot
Highlights
What called most my attention in this series was how secondary characters became almost the main ones, with a crucial participation in the events that wove this tale. I didn’t love it, but didn’t hate it either. It was an interesting and risky move from the author.
What to Expect
- Main focus in fantasy
- Greediness for power and control
- Violence, cruelty, and death
- Unique system of magic centered in cards
- Secrets, treason, sacrifices and betrayals
- Multiple POVs
- More than one romantic relationship
- Enemies to lovers
- Little romance per se
- Teamwork as key for success
- Intricate plot
What I Missed
- I honestly thought it would hooked me more. Maybe I’m struggling with the summer heat or my romantic side has become predominant because there was something missing for me here. I even found the second book a bit slow, like it took some time for significant things to unfold.
🤔
I guess I could revisit this series later and see if my perception changes…
