What I Missed
- It was a great story, full of tension and unafraid of unleashing what it needed to—even if it meant making us witness unfair and painful death. That said, it’s fine to retell fragments and characteristics from legends and other stories, but the Hunger Games were too present in my head while reading the book. I wanted to forget its similarities.
- There’s a moment where vital information is revealed. That instance felt too easy. I think the characters should have fought a bit more to gain the whole picture of what they needed, instead of gaining a silver-platter delivery.
👀
I’ll be reviewing the sequel to this story, Reckless, next month, so stay tuned!
