Book of the Month

For any book lover, having to choose only one book as a favorite is an impossible task. There are just too many amazing options. I’m not sure you can even choose a favorite author. However, I’ve looked into my all time reading log, and set the goal of picking my top romantic novel. I’m telling you, it’s still crazy, but here we are.

So, if I had to choose only ONE book as my favorite romance, it would be The Unhoneymooners by the beloved duet Christina Lauren.

I’ve read it multiple times. But more importantly, I remember it with deep affection. Only thinking about it brings me joy. I think it was one of the first books that hooked me into the genre and its authors, one of my first auto-buy.

In The Unhoneymooners, you’ll get the best of a rom-com. It’s a hate-to-love story with great banter, witty humour and redemption. 

After almost everyone in Olive’s sister’s wedding got food poisoning, there are only two people that can still take advantage of the newlyweds honeymoon: Olive and Ethan, who’s the best man and her nemesis. 

Putting aside their antagonism, they fly together to Hawaii to enjoy a free vacation. However, everything that could go wrong, does. Olive runs into her future boss and lies about her marital situation. Then Ethan runs into her ex, as well. Their fake-romance is full on. But, if the truth comes out they might not be ready to face the consequences. 

There’s some spice in here, although it’s not the main focus. I would highlight instead their verbal fights. It’s just too much fun reading their exchanges. 

And if you’re familiar with these authors, then you know their writing is on point.

So, as I said, I may have many beloved romantic novels. And it was very difficult to narrow it down, but this book is like a baby to me. I’ll always cherish and love it no matter how many other stories come afterwards to steal my heart.

From Ali Hazelwood comes Deep End, a sports romance between two college students aiming high in their fields, or should I say, sinking into deep waters, because in topics of the heart, the direction never goes as planned.

In On Loverose Lane, it seems Beth Carmichael is following the steps of her parents in this fake relationship then no-strings-attached arrangement with sport celebrity Callan Keen. Can’t wait to read it.
