📖
I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.
Highlights
I’m going to start rooting for the enemies. They’ve proved to be cunning, ambitious, witty, and resourceful.
What to Expect
- Violence
- Repetitive action
- Multiple POVs
- Problems in paradise
- New characters
- Cliffhanger
- Slower pace
- Few things happening
What I Missed
- These books are getting repetitive. The characters seem to be lost in an endless cycle. They do something, they get caught, they free themselves and repeat. There’s no real good strategy. They go blind into action. They lack the ambition, resolution, wisdom and resources the enemies have.
- I’m still baffled at how a simple human with connections embarrassingly outmaneuvers the good guys over and over, who by the way, are supposed to be older—meaning wiser—and more powerful.
😵💫
There are still two more books to this series, both coming later this year.
